Letter of Rec.

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Trevor Furtado, a senior who I have worked with
throughout my time at Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School. Mr. Furtado is an intelligent,
hard-working and creative student who is well liked by both students and staff. A positive presence both inside
and outside the classroom, Mr. Furtado has the ability to bring knowledge and insight to any discussion. With
these qualities in mind, I recommend Trevor Furtado to yours or any program.

I met Mr. Furtado his junior year, when he was a student in my Honors Modern World History class. In a
crowded classroom, Mr. Furtado managed to stand out from his peers with his high level of effort and his high
grades. Mr. Furtado earned a consistent A throughout my course, which is no small feat. As a student, Mr. Furtado
is a talented writer and researcher, and applies a professional creative approach to his writing assignments and
presentations. He is a student who is more mature than most of his peers, and that comes through in his work as
well as his attitude.

Beyond my classroom, Mr. Furtado is much the same student. He is passionate about his Computer
Science vocational shop, competing in SkillsUSA multiple years in Web Design. He challenges himself with
difficult courses and still has maintained status in the National Honor Society. He has been recognized for
excellence in our schools Excellence Cabinet, and is a member of the Game Design Club. Mr. Furtado is a true
member of the school community.

Trevor Furtado is an intelligent and driven student. To any class, he brings a willingness to engage,
discuss, and debate, and a true desire to learn. For these reasons I recommend him to yours or any college
program. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected].

Letter of Rec.

I am writing to give my recommendation for Trevor Furtado. I taught Trevor in his sophomore year of high school in Old Colony’s Computer Science department. During that year, I watched Trevor grow as a person, an artist, and excel in his studies.

Trevor was awarded an Excellence Cabinet certificate for his hard work. He is able to take criticism in his work and improve it beyond expectation. When it came to studying for the AP Computer Science exam, he took the initiative to go to school on a weekend for various study sessions. He also stayed after school for extra help on his academics when needed.

Besides that, Trevor has placed multiple times in the district competition for SkillsUSA in Web Design. He is a part of the National Honor Society and volunteers with them, and he is also a part of the Game Design Club. He has always worked hard to excel at his studies and anything he does, and is constantly trying to improve all of his skills.

Even though I only knew him a short amount of time, he continues to send me work he is proud of and I am extremely proud of the growth that I see portrayed in his work. That ability to grow makes me confident that Trevor will be an amazing candidate for any future endeavors.

Letter of Rec.

My name is Amber Roderick and I am writing this letter of recommendation for  Trevor Furtado.  I have known Trevor for a little over one year.  He was a student in my junior Honors English class, and in that year, Trevor proved to be a diligent student with a strong work ethic who establishes a high bar for his academic goals while also maintaining his creativity.

As a student at a vocational high school, Trevor displays his quality work across the board.  He is a student in the Computer Science Shop and he has shown his talents in this field in the English classroom as well with translating his technical thinking to the development of his writing.  His perspective on analyzing arguments in essays and articles we have read in class was always fresh and inventive.  For example, for the junior research paper, Trevor wrote his paper on linear versus nonlinear game design that was informative for someone who doesn’t know much about the topic, yet argumentative in his viewpoints on the design.  Trevor has maintained high grades in both academics and shop which made him eligible to become a member of the National Honor Society.  He also placed in several SkillsUSA competitions including computer science and web design, won our school’s annual Excellence in Effort award for Computer Science, and is a member of the Game Design Club.  He would certainly translate the qualities of hardwork and perseverance into any workplace.
